 Our moms need positive mentors as they face childbirth and mothering. They also need mentors to help them with job skills and self-confidence.
A mentor is a woman, couple or family who is able to commit time, energy, love, prayer and support on a regular basis for a resident of Toby's House. A mentor exists for the purpose of encouragement, spiritual direction, friendship, modeling of healthy relational and life skills.
Suggested Activities that a mentor can do with a resident:
- Go for coffee
- Take them to doctor's appointments
- Have them over to your house for dinner
- Go for walks at the park or the beach
- Take them with you to church or to church events
- Help them study for school
- Give them advice and direction when facing challenges
- Be a kind listener and supporter
